Fluorinated silicone rubber offering wider operational temperature range from -65℃ to +230℃

Fluorosilicone rubber (FVMQ) is an elastomer that blends the chemical resistance of fluoroelastomers with the flexibility and weather resistance of silicone rubber. This combination makes it well-suited for applications where exposure to oils, fuels, solvents, and extreme temperatures is a concern. Unlike standard silicone rubber, FVMQ maintains stability in aggressive environments while retaining its elasticity and insulating properties. It is one of the few materials that can withstand continuous contact with lubricants and fuels across a temperature range of -65°C to 230°C, making it a preferred choice for sealing components in aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications.

Typical Applications
  • Aerospace Industry:

    Used in fuel and lubricant-resistant seals and contact components in aircraft, including O-rings, gaskets, sealing rings, sensor materials, diaphragms, and fluorosilicone-lined clamps. Also suitable for integrated fuel tank sealing, ensuring long-term durability in aviation environments.

  • Automotive Industry:

    Applied in sealing rings, oil seals, diaphragms, hoses, and valve linings across different vehicle systems. Designed to withstand varied operating conditions, providing reliable performance in fuel systems, engine components, and transmission applications.

  • Petrochemical Industry:

    Used in seals for pumps, valves, and storage tanks that require high-temperature resistance, chemical stability, and durability in extreme environments. Maintains sealing integrity in aggressive chemical and temperature conditions.

  • Medical and Healthcare:

    Suitable for medical devices and artificial organs, including catheters, drainage tubes, and artificial heart valves. Offers good biocompatibility and chemical stability, making it a safe choice for medical-grade applications.

    Designed for low-temperature, oil-resistant, and acid-resistant environments, including hydraulic system hoses in military aircraft, door and hatch seals for specialized vehicles, and sensor components used in military-grade equipment.

FVMQ Properties
  • Chemical Resistance

    Performs well in oil, fuel, and solvent exposure, offering greater durability than standard methyl vinyl silicone rubber. In non-polar media, it remains stable over a wide temperature range of -68°C to 232°C, making it suitable for critical sealing applications in fuel systems and industrial machinery.

  • Weathering and Aging Resistance

    Exhibits long-term durability in outdoor environments, retaining its mechanical properties even after extended exposure to environmental stressors.

  • Ozone Resistance

    Remains unaffected by ozone exposure, whether under static or dynamic conditions, preventing surface degradation or cracking. This makes it an excellent choice for applications requiring long-term environmental stability.

  • Physical Characteristics

    Typically available as a high-viscosity, transparent material, offering good processability for molding and extrusion into various components.

  • Thermal Stability

    Designed for continuous operation between -55°C and 200°C, with oxidation and aging effects beginning around 200°C. When formulated with heat stabilizers, it can perform reliably at temperatures up to 250°C, extending its suitability for high-heat applications.

Supplied in sheets, for efficient storage, handling, and processing. Standard packaging includes 20kg per box, with palletized options of 500kg, 700kg, or 800kg, making it suitable for both small-scale and bulk orders. To accommodate different application needs, we also offer custom packaging solutions, ensuring flexibility in size and format based on specific customer requirements.

Raw gum can be processed using compression molding, extrusion, and injection molding, depending on the application. Compression molding is ideal for complex shapes and high-precision components, while extrusion is suited for continuous forms such as tubes and strips.
